Rathtrevor Beach:
Rathtrevor Beach in Parksville is one of the province's most popular family destinations. The Beach is a 5-minute walk down the path and the perfect place to relax and unwind. This stunning beach/park is ideal for enjoying sun, sand and surf.
Rathtrevor offers majestic old-growth woodland, beautiful ocean sunsets, and a wide, sandy beach with campsites nestled among the trees. At low tide, the ocean recedes almost a kilometre back from Rathtrevor's shoreline, exposing tide pools that are ripe for exploration, while high tide presents an enjoyable, all-ages swimming experience during the summer as the beach's hot sand warms the salt water of the Strait of Georgia.
There are over 5 kilometres of trails in the park. The trails pass through various unique and scenic ecosystems, from a lush Douglas fir, cedar and alder forest that gives way to a sprawling meadow and marshland, then transitions to an oceanside walkway. Many visitors also enjoy strolling along the massive white sand flats of Rathtrevor Beach.
Rathtrevor Beach is one of several provincial parks perfect for swimming in the Parksville area.

Must-do hikes:
Englishmen River Falls, Top Bridge Trail, Little Qualicum Falls, Shooting Star Falls, Benson Creek Falls, Ammonite Falls, Bonnell Creek, Nile Creek Trailhead, and further North in Fanny Bay is Rosewall Creek Provincial Park. There are so many hikes - Use the Alltrails App for a greater experience.
Other Things to do:
Take in the sights along the Parksville Boardwalk for a leisure walk
Take a tour and go Whale watching
Go for a bike ride on any of the trails, birdwatching, golfing and mini golf at Riptide Lagoon up the street
Goats on the Roof in Errington - Coombs Country Market, and take in the magic of Butterfly World in Coombs
Visit Cathedral Grove (old-growth forest) in MacMillan Provincial Park or go explore Horne Lake Caves
If you don't like the ocean, there are plenty of lakes in the area
Go for a spa day down the street at the Grotto Spa Tigh-Na-Mara or drive North to Kingfisher Resort & Spa
